Anyone else is getting the Mac OS error message stating that CrossOver 19 is damaged and can't be opened and that I should move it to the Trash (in Catalina 10.15.1)?
I've just downloaded it from the CodeWeavers website after purchasing it. I've tried downloading it again and decompressing it again to no avail.
Opening it using the contextual menu "Open" doesn't change anything. There's no option to manually allow it to open in the General pane of the Security panel in System Preferences.
I'm aware that I could possibly disable Gatekeeper altogether by running "sudo spctl --master-disable" in Terminal... but I'd rather not do that and it seems to me that I shouldn't need to do that to run software that I just bought and downloaded from the company's website...
In the meantime, it should be possible to add exceptions for CrossOver files and folders specifically if you are so inclined, in order to avoid disabling Gatekeeper as you mentioned. We agree that you shouldn't have to do that - the solution would be much simpler if the antivirus software were flagging and deleting files that are actually infected or problematic. Alternatively, you could watch for updates - we will update everyone as soon as we have a better solution, and we are working on this issue literally as I'm typing this.
Thanks,
Anna
