I have tried to get a Windows program to run on my iMac and managed to get to a point where the program starts and steps me through all the setup steps but fails when I click on finish. The window for the program is not completely painted. I should see a calendar type view and do not. The menu bar and some of the shortcut buttons are available. This program is old, the company that created it hasn't provided an update in years, their website is http://www.pegasussoftware.com/ and I am using Runlog V5.2 although I don't think there is a major difference between it and v5.0.

I get these error messages fro the program itself. Most of the windows flies listed below I had to add manually.

Try with a clean bottle. Install Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft Jet 4.0 and then this program. It will output an error message but it seems to run after that:

With thanks and credit to Silviu of course. The only thing I did was make the install go more smoothly. I thought I had a hunch for the installation error message but, alas, it did not pan out. I probably won't do more on the tie. I may nab the screenshot for the C4 page.

Yup, sure, you can use the screenshot if you want to.

Unfortunately, whipping up a crosstie is the slower method as far as I'm concerned since I have to wait for approval ;)

Silviu and Caron....Thank you very much for your assistance. I do have another question, well maybe two.

First question, when you said to do the install using the IE7 and Microsoft JET 4.0 followed by the application you meant to install all three into the same bottle correct?

Second question, I am also interested in trying an application called Runners Studio which according to the 'What Runs' page is listed as untested. I did a quick one time attempt last night and it did not work. Yes. Caron created a crosstie. Download that, let CrossOver open it and install the application.

Ugh a .NET application... As a rule of thumb, they don't work. Some of the most basic ones (usually game launchers) do work. This one does not, can't figure out why exactly. It complains that it could not load some components but the required dll files appear to be right in in work directory so maybe it's some missing functionality in Wine.

Hate to be a pain but I have discovered one function that does not work and it is one of the few that I really used. The function is 'Edit Shoes' from the Options menu. The Run Log error information is:

In the error dialog that contains the above messages, I click on 'OK' and get a blank 'Edit Shoes' dialog. Trying to do anything such as create a 'New' entry fails with the same error as noted above.

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce that on my Ubuntu box... Probably something specific to Mac OS X :/

Maybe the staff can help you since they have access to Macs.
