Help running Windows95 programs/Warcraft Map Editor

I am trying to get the Map Editor from Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness running; which it will do with Wineskin or Crossover, but when I try to save a map I create, it crashes. It also does this if I try opening a custom map that comes pre-loaded on the CD-ROM. It will not even reach the save/open dialogue, it crashes when I click "Save", "Save As", or "Open". I haven't tested every single button, but everything I have tested still works.

Any ideas?

I see there isn't any true tech support for this game, which is unfortunate, because it is one of the best games of all time...

Warcraft II is a DOS game. Use DOSbox for it

The Map editor is not a DOS game, it's a Win95/98 executable. Won't run on DOS. The game portion itself (NOT the Map Editor) runs fine. I'm asking for help with the Map Editor.

This is a blind guess, but some old applications crash if your harddisk is too big (> 2^31 bytes, aka 2 GB). You can try to set the Windows version to Windows 95 with winecfg. I believe in that case Wine/CrossOver limits the amount of free disk space it reports. Note that this may break other applications installed in the same bottle.

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
