After updating macOS to version 13.3 on my M1 Air, when I try to launch GW2 it will show up in the dock for a brief moment, and then a window will pop up that states "Already Running. Guild Wars 2 is unable to start because another copy is already running on this computer, or because the application has insufficient rights to successfully detect whether another copy is already running on this computer."
I've tried re-creating the bottle, rebooting mac, and even reinstalling crossover.
As of today, 2023-03-23, MacOS 13.3 is a beta. Install a release version of MacOS.
Beta versions of operating systems are for developers who need to test and update their applications to run in the upcoming new version of the OS and people who are being paid to test the beta. It is not a special early release to give you and other special people new features in advance of the unwashed masses. Betas have bugs and missing features/components, they are not for typical users like you and me who want to get work done and play games.
I updated my M1 Mac Mini to Ventura 13.3 today (release version) and can't launch GW2 either. Looking online, I've seen reports of other people reporting not being able to launch steam after updating and I can't launch another game (Lord of the Rings Online) past its launcher. So it looks like there is a big problem with 13.3 and crossover . Hopefully that means it will get urgent attention from the devs.

I can’t speak to GW2 but I do play LOTRO, have MacOS 13.3 Ventura and Crossover 21.2, and have experienced no trouble. (Multiple Intel Macs, mostly use a 2019 iMac.) I don’t have an Apple SOC Mac so that is a variable I have not been able to test. Come to the official LOTRO forums and let’s see if we can figure out your trouble there, I post on those forums as “Tralfazz”. If LOTRO just black screens or seems to do nothing after you enter your account credentials and click PLAY the fix is usually very easy.
Thanks for the reply. I've posted in the LoTRO mac forum. Things got a little more odd as I was able to start both games once without having changed any configurations. I then rebooted but wasn't able to start them again. For GW2, I now get a detected crash on start with the log reporting:
--> Error Logs <--
03:00:32Z Coherent GPU process crash: GpuProcessCrashed
Crashed at 03:00:32Z
I received the following reply from CodeWeavers (March 29):
Thank you for writing to CodeWeavers Support.
Looks like MacOS 13.3 update messed with a lot of our Game clients including GuildWars.
Currently looking into the cause of the problem and haven't figured out if it's something that we (CodeWeavers) need to do about it. Or if It's a Mac update that is needed to fix.
We will keep tabs on it!
I was able to launch GW2 this morning (and Lord of the Rings) after the Mac Mini had been sleeping and doing whatever Macs do when left alone overnight. Unfortunately it went back to not launching after a reboot. Putting the machine to sleep and waking it manually didn't help either.
Hmm yeah it seems Ventura 13.3 has caused some issues with quite a few apps.
For some reason, I am getting the black screen on steam where I have to select small mode in order to launch games that had been fixed with crossover 22.1. Also I noticed Witcher 3 performance is way worse with a lot of stuttering and frame drops on my M1 Max.
Do you also have the back screen on steam or is it only me?
I guess we'll have to wait for an update but I'd love to know if there is a list of issues in various software with the new update of MacOS.
