Trados through CrossOver on a Mac

I know CrossOver is working fine on my Mac because I use it to run the translation software MemoQ. For MemoQ, it opened the installer as it would normally in Windows, installed it, and now the program works fine.

However, Trados, another translation program, never opens in Windows when installing- the only sign of installation is the bar in CrossOver, which stops after a few seconds after creating the bottle, half way through, and never finishes. I have done the simple basic things like restarting, etc.

Does anyone have experience with this? I am trying to install the Trados 2007 Starter, which just a scaled-down, one-year, subscription-based version of the full Trados Studio.

Thanks in advance,
Zack

Most likely Crossover is trying to start the installer which is immediately crashing out and so Crossover just sits there, thinking the installer is running.

There's not much to be done for installers. You can try adding dependencies to the bottle http://www.codeweavers.com/support/wiki/mac/mactutorial/unsupported_deps and then run the installer against that bottle, but adding dependencies is usually only helpful to try and get the main app to run. Installers tend to either just work or just don't work.

Hmm... OK thanks. That's the impression I was getting (some things just work and some don't).

I gave up on Crossover and got it running through VirtualBox. Hooray. Thanks for help though.
