Games freezing after updating to 10.14.6?

After updating my 15” 2017 MBP to macOS 10.14.6 I immediately started experiencing freezes while launching Total Annihilation and while starting gameplay. There’s probably a 25% chance that I’m able to get in all the way and play a skirmish. The rest of the time I have to force quit it, or if that doesn’t work then hard restart. Railroad Tycoon 2 is having problems too. Is anyone else experiencing similar behavior after updating their OS?

I am experiencing this with Final Fantasy XI. Locks up the computer completely and have to force reboot.

Yes...I "upgraded" to 10.14 a few days ago and am experiencing quite a few freezes with games under Wine (especially the games that run full screen and blackout both monitors. However, I've found that running Terminal/Telnet and quitting the problem processes from an external machine (I use the iPad for it) will allow my machine to recover without needing a reboot.
