Fix extremely low framerate? (trackmania)

Hi
I got the new Macbook Air M1 and tried crossover.
With the game Trackmania (united forever).

Installation etc. was very fast and smooth :)

But when playing the game itself, the framerate experience is very horrible. So choppy.
And it seems quality settings for game doesn't matter for fps, high or low.
It feels like 10-20 fps no matter what.

I think TM has always had this on mac. Extremely low framerate, unplayable.
I thought and hoped the new M1 chip would make it much better.

Any ways I could fix this?
I see other games run extremely much better than this.
The game is from about 2007 and the machine should indeed be very capable of running it well.
On my old windows comp I can easily get 100-200 fps without it breaking a sweat.

Maybe I need to change some OpenGL/DirectX setting or other?
Or some option to use to add/prevent something technical?

Crossover says XP is compatible, so that's what I'm using.
But is that correct or should I try other windows version.. Which one?

If only I could get this game to run better, I would gladly throw money on Crossover.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 = unplayable, because extremely low framerate too

Macbook Air M1

I was trying COD2 with Steam on the same hardware and it also has super low FPS. Would be great to find a fix for this.

I’ve not really seen crazy low FPS in any games only the RPG Maker Pokémon fan games (issue with transitions), however I do play all games in Windowed mode when/if it’s supported.

If your playing in fullscreen mode maybe try playing in Windows mode and see if that helps improve FPS.
