Mac Support for It Takes Two

Dear developer team:

Hi! I'm currently interested in playing It Takes Two via steam.

Currently, the steam works fine on my apple M1 MacBook Air (I can use it to play GTA V online perfectly).

However, It Takes Two can be opened successfully, but the thing goes wrong when I start the game with my friend.

I play online mode with my friend, and once we start the game, the screen goes black (show nothing except some weird silhouette
of figures), but the audio is normal. While for my friend's side, she uses a normal Windows and everything works really fine.

I'm using MacBook Air M1, macOS 12.01, crossover (21.1.0.33869).

I would really appreciate it if your team could have time try to fix that issues. And I've already really enjoyed this amazing software as it already brought GTA V online for me.

Best,

Hi there,

We investigated this game and found that it uses geometry shaders. Unfortunately, Metal does not provide support for geometry shaders, which means the game won't render properly on macOS :/

Best,
Meredith

Hi! Does that mean that in a foreseeable feature (until geometry shaders are implemented), we won't see support of that kind of game? At what priority is the implementation in the development schedule?

Hi again,

Since this is a deficiency in Metal (Apple's graphics API), we aren't able to do anything on our end to fix this issue.

Best,
Meredith
