"Create Package from this Bottle" fails with no error message
If you're trying to create an rpm package out of a bottle in the Manage Bottles>Advanced tab and the operation appears to run for a bit before dying, you're probably missing rpm-build. You can easily install this package via
$ sudo yum install rpm-build
Be sure to get the 32-bit rpm-build libs, if you're using a 64-bit distro.
When this install is complete, try again. If the package creation operation runs for a good bit longer than it used to before dying, this is a good sign. Depending on the size of your bottle, package creation can take up to several minutes.
We're rebels. We're misfits. But mostly, we're software liberators. And we're very, very good at what we do. We have to be. Lots of developers work with open source, but only a tiny fraction of those are good enough to get software that was designed for one platform to work on another one. We invented CrossOver software - a unique approach to cross-platform compatibility that does not require dual-boot or another OS license. We launched PortJump to help app and game developers broaden their market beyond Windows® users. And we launched ExecMode to help organizations solve really ugly technical challenges.
