Windows applications won't launch (jpeg errors)
Apart from the ptrace kernel bug
, another common problem when launching windows applications under Crossover on Ubuntu 12.04 is the lack of the necessary 32-bit libjpeg library.
To identify if this is the reason your application isn't launching, first try the workaround for the ptrace issue (above link), and then run "cxdiag" in a terminal:
The above command assumes that you installed Crossover from the .deb package. If you used the .bin, that command will read:
"Missing 32-bit libjpeg.so.62 library"
If this library is reported as missing, you can install it with the following command:
sudo apt-get install libjpeg62:i386
