Open .exe files in cxrun instead of cxinstaller when double-clicking
By default, Crossover will open up .exe files in cxinstaller (i.e. the Install Software menu) when those files are double-clicked. On Mac there's a simple switch in Crossover's Preferences to change the default action for double-clicking on .exe files from "use cxinstaller" to "use cxrun" (which is the "Run Command" tool) , but this switch doesn't exist in our Linux product.
To change this behavior, you can modify the "defaults.list" file that you find in
/usr/local/share/applications/ (if you installed Crossover from the .deb/.rpm package)
~/.local/share/applications (in you installed Crossover as user from the .bin file)
We're rebels. We're misfits. But mostly, we're software liberators. And we're very, very good at what we do. We have to be. Lots of developers work with open source, but only a tiny fraction of those are good enough to get software that was designed for one platform to work on another one. We invented CrossOver software - a unique approach to cross-platform compatibility that does not require dual-boot or another OS license. We launched PortJump to help app and game developers broaden their market beyond Windows® users. And we launched ExecMode to help organizations solve really ugly technical challenges.
