Walk key works intermittently

The game loads up and looks fine, but I have this strange problem where the "walk" key (I have it bound to Shift) does not always work. It seems random.. it probably works about 50 or 60% of the time. The other times, it seems as if I don't have the key pressed at all.

My fps are great btw. Everything seems to look and function ok as far as CS goes, except for this.
