Zombie Panic: Source Forum

NOTE => Zombie Panic: Source, is a HalfLife-2 mod that is available free via Steam,
and it can be downloaded/installed using the Steam GUI interface. As such, it relies on
a pre-existing HalfLife-2 title being present in your Steam installation (bottle), and
thus will not work unless one of the following qualifying titles are already installed....see;

Zombie Panic: Source did not display any issues when installed/run via
the Steam interface. My qualifying product is Half-Life 2: Episode One.

The installation procedure I used was this simple ;

1. Install the Steam client via the cxinstallwizard builtin target (if not already installed)
2. Make sure you have one of the qualifying games present in your Steam installation
3. Start the Steam client, login and download/install the Zombie Panic: Source software
4. Launch the game

Gets a silver straight out of the box - first impressions are this will
change to gold after a bit more gameplay/testing...

It's been working fine until the stupid Feb.4th Steam updates which crippled not only the game but also THE WHOLE OF STEAM. Steam takes too long to load, Game also takes too long to load and then crashes as soon as a connection is made with any server. Note: game is running in LOWEST possible graphics, taking up lowest possible memory (RAM heapsize) load, and also it's in a window NOT in fullscreen. Running CXG 8.1.4, Mac OSX 10.6.2, cpu: Intel 2.53GHz, RAM 4GB @ 1066MHz, gpu: Nvidia 9400M 256MB, laptop is under NO load because I'm not running any background apps.
