Unable to Install Obliviion

This is my first attempt at a CrossOver installation. I am using Mac OS 10.6.4

I am trying to install Oblivion and set the install folder to be my original OblivionGOTYUK1 disc. All went ok until about halfway through the install and I got the following error msg:

Unable to find OblivionGOTY. No disc insterted, please insert the original.

I also had a copy of the disc on my hd so I pointed the installer to that and got the same message.

I then created a new dvd and renamed it OblivionGOTY incase the UK1 on my original was confusing and ran the install again and this time got another msg:

No CD/DVD-ROM drive found.

I checked the on the link shown on the error window and this is what it said: SecuROM had determined that your computer doesn't have a CD or DVD drive. Please refer to the following procedure to remedy and it then told me to check that there is a CD/DVD drive available in the Windows Device Manager.

I can see the dvd on my desktop and in finder so I know the Mac has picked it up and I know that other people have been able to install Oblivion and it's got a gold star in the compatability lists.

I have renamed the folder on the HD OblivionGOTY as well and tried running the install from there with the disc in and the disc out. I have tried pointing to the specific setup.exe both on the disc and the hd folder. I have deleted the HD folder and just tried the disc but nothing seems to work.

Any ideas on what I can try next.

Thanks

Hi,

What you are likely seeing there is the securom disc based DRM failing on the Mac.
This is often the case due to the Mac scsi drivers (most all disc based DRM systems
fail on the Mac due to this driver limitation). As such, the following applies;

Cheers!
