Applications don't install or showup

Hi,
I'm trying out CrossOver but haven't been impressed so far.
I downloaded the trial because I specifically need to use MS Visio 2003 on my MacBook Pro.
CrossOver installed OK, but I tried three times to install Visio (I have an install disk).
Each time the installation was apparently a success, according to the installer.
But, there's nothing on my HD, nothing shows up under the Crossover Program's menu.
I don't feel it's worth buying CrossOver unless of course it works. Is this a bug or a known issue ("installed applications not showing up")?

That said you'll probably need to give some more information before anyone can even try to help you, what version of Crossover are you on? What version of MAC OS X?

Did you try Configure->Clear and Rebuild Programs menu assuming it actually installed?

I had this same issue when I installed CrossOver yesterday and Office 2007. My problem was a permission issue on the Applications folder under my user account. I had to go in as root and modify the permissions on the folder to my user. For some reason it had permissions set to unknown. Once the permissions were corrected I killed the bottle and reinstall office 2007 and everything worked fine. Apps now show up.

I have not been impressed either. One of the biggest wastes of money I have spent on the Mac. I bought this program to specifically run one Windows program on my Mac. It won't work.

  Codeweavers tries as best it can to avoid situations like this.  

They do this, by providing -demo- versions of the Crossover products,
specifically so people can try to run the Windows app/game on their
machines using crossover/wine -- not all Windows apps/games can run
using crossover/wine, and this is why the demos are provided ; people
can 'try before they buy'. The demo versions of Crossover are the full
versions, just time limited...(if you need more demo time to try and
get a Windows program running, that's easy enough to do as well).

That said, seeing as you have actually purchased Crossover, that entitles
you to official support via the ticket system -- that is to say, these
forums form the 'unofficial' support channel, and as such the support you
get here is from people like myself who volunteer their time to help other
users out ; you should not confuse this with the great level of support the
Codeweaver's crew are capable of giving you as a paying customer.

Have you emailed your concerns to info@codeweavers.com and let them know
of your situation? They are really good people to deal with, and I'm pretty
sure if you email them and let them know what's going on, they'll be willing
to help you out one way or another.
