CrossOver Support - Community Forums

I got CrossOver Games about a week ago on my MacBook. Steam works great. But when I tried to install both Rise of Nations Gold and Dungeon Siege 2 I got a message, after entering the CD key, telling me that it could not load PidGen.dll . When I looked for PidGen.dll, via Spotlight, I found a Textedit document stating that "This document cannot be run in DOS mode." I've noticed that many people have problems after they've installed many of these older games but for the most part the installation goes smoothly. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, what you need to do,

is first, open the Bottle Management, open the bottles C:/ drive under the advanced tab, find "windows" and open the folder "system 32".

Search google and download PidGen.ddl and mfc42.dll, then put them in that folder.

And it will work :)

Its a file used for CD key validation. PidGen.ddl is usually provided by the game, but mfc42.dll, is not, which is also needed.

That worked perfectly. Sadly, the installer refused to recognize the second CD. How do I continue the instillation if the game comes in two or more CDs? Again, any help is appreciated.

With that, I am not entirely sure. Some games do not recognize the second or third CD, but some others do.

I don't know what I was doing wrong yesterday. It works fine now. Thanks for your help.
