Quicken 2016 Doesn't Shutdown

Quicken 2016 will no longer shutdown when I exit the program. Instead, I get a dialogue box titled 'Waiting for Program', with message 'A simulated log-off or shutdown is in progress, but this program isn't responding. If you terminate the process you may lose all unsaved data."
Options for 'Terminate Process' or 'Cancel'.
OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6
CrossOver is up to date: Version 15.3.1(22.214.171.124689)
Quicken Premier 2016 Release R 8(126.96.36.199)
This has just started the past week -- does anyone have any suggestions to avoid this?
