This is an indispensable Verb Conjugation tool for the Study of the Turkish Language, with a variety of second language support, English being the primary. It is configured to present all tense and mood conjugations of a large number of Turkish verbs. © Taner Nalbat and Per Brännström 2002-2006. On Windows, this program has no installer. It runs from an .exe and appears to write only two files to disk; an .ini and the .exe (with embedded data-base). Interestingly via CrossOver, the program installer did not confirm that WinMekMak was indeed placed in a bottle (Windows 2000), but the .exe does run and presents what appears to be a fully functioning version of the program with the English Interface language. The Unicode Turkish fonts work well in the character palette, and appear correctly in the conjugations. The only irregularity dealt with text color and text alignment. The program separates the various parts of Turkish verb construction by color coding. On earlier versions of CrossOver the pronoun and root of the verb appears in white text and therefore difficult to read. The Windows system this text is black. All other suffixes do appear in different color codes and are readable, though they may be slightly different than in the Windows version. Text alignment of conjugations should be in a row; one row for each pronoun part of speech - so 6 rows. These ran together on earlier versions Crossover. (See screen shot when available) All anomalies are resolved in CrossOver 9.0.0 Pro. For your information the current other language interface choices are: Turkish, Swedish, Dutch, German, and French. Menu selection and verb conjugation is accurate with these interfaces, but translation appears to be supported on new CrossOver. Testing has been on Intel IMac OS X upgraded from Tiger to Leopard OS X 10.5. Now to 10.6.5. Testing on CrossOver 6.2 and 6.2.1, 7 Prof., 7.0.2 Prof., 7.1, 7.1.2, , 8.0.3, and now CrossOver 9.0.0 Pro - This last version has resolved all problems with this program and it is now fully functional. Continued full functionality with CrossOver 9.0.1 and 10.0.10 Pro. The WinMekMak version is 0.22 made especially for CrossOver testing. Write the developer directly if it does not appear on his website. I have tested this version on Linux Ubuntu Jaunty and the new Karmic Koala 10.04 and it works. See my latest tip.
